Sailor Moon Haiku
I wrote some Sailor Moon-themed haiku on the pattern of one Senshi (and Mamoru) + one key word/phrase tied to the seasons. I chose key subjects about winter and spring, as where I am Spring is still not quite free yet of the lingering hand of winter (it snowed today, for instance).
1. The first one is Usagi + spring night:
She shivers, still cold.
Fine night of spring - but she longs
To eat odango.
2. (Ami + winter day)
Sunny winter day;
air nearly as crisp and clear
as math formulas.
3. (Rei + snow)
The crows start cawing.
She stops sweeping: from above
Tumbling, tumbling down.
4. (Makoto + frost)
Midwinter - the frost
Makes pretty window flowers;
but she wants green things...
5. (Minako + wintry Hokkaido <--cheating maybe)
In the vast whiteness
Artemis is all but lost;
A moving crescent.
6. (Minako again + snow)
She dreams of spotlights
And sings under the streetlight;
Glittering snowfall.
7. (Haruka + winter cold)
She wants for her coat
To flap freely in the wind -
But it's too damn cold!
(Also, Michiru already makes enough fun of her for not wanting to bundle up enough because Haruka feels she looks less cool that way. ;p)
8. (Michiru + thaw)
She throws sticks into
The rushing spring brook, next to
Hotaru, laughing.
9. (Pluto* + winter cold I)
The warm kotatsu,
in the cold and silent house.
The ticks of a clock.
10. (Pluto + winter cold II)
Inside winter's heart,
rests the pure heat of summer.
All turning, turning.
11. (Hotaru + hot chocolate)
The drink brings her warmth
And the longing to share it
With an absent friend.
12. (Chibi-Usagi + early spring)
Tiny new flowers
In her crystal city - but
Hotaru's not there.
13. (Mamoru + cherry blossoms)
Ah, the snacks of spring - !
He hopes she will enjoy his
sakuramochi.
* To me Pluto feels like her name much more than Setsuna does... But I may be wrong about this. (Hotaru calls her Setsuna-mama, right?)

But filled with little nuts that
remind you of home

She makes stars in frost
Because all she really wants
Is that her friends shine"
