Wow. Reading this now, I can't help but see this as Luffy post-Marinford, caught in physical and emotional pain (the way he can't even remember who he is - maybe he doesn't WANT to) and unable to break free of it until his nakama find him and bring him back...

Which is to say, I see things in this that you didn't intend when writing it, but it gives me the kind of comfort I need right now. ♥
