A very dramatic page from the Musk Dynasty Saga, in which Ryoga's coming close to dying in his fight against the terrifyingly strong character Lime. Both Ranma (who's a fair bit away on the same mountain) and Akane (many miles away in Tokyo) are able to sense it. This kind of mystical bond doesn't happen too often in the series, and I think this is the only time it happens when there's neither a familial bond nor a bond of mutual romantic love involved.

But Mousse shouldn't be forgotten, either! This arc is where he starts to develop honour and a conscience. Partly from debt of gratitude to Ranma when Ranma risks his life in order to give Mousse and Ryoga a chance to reclaim their human forms in spite of their callous doublecrossing of him earlier. (Although this happens a little later than the scene where this page is from.) But also partly from fighting alongside Ryoga, getting genuinely concerned and upset when it looks like Ryoga's dying, as we see here. This is new, at least as far as we've seen from Mousse up until now.

The Musk Dynasty arc was one of my favorite! I remember being salty that it never got animated.
