Writing the end of a fic...
Oct. 27th, 2019 02:25 pmI'm getting close to the end of a fic which actually won't be that long in terms of word count - I think it will end up well under 20000 words - but which I've worked on, on and off, for quite a while now. Plus it collects short scenes from various points in canon (some fairly vague in time, others more exact), and the final scene is post-canon. So it feels long to me even though it isn't.
And the final scene isn't meant to be too complicated or overly intense - it's rounding things off, looking towards the future, has the two main characters being happy that the other is there. Just what you might expect. Buuuut. Finding the right sentence and the utter right moment to end it on is still a struggle!
