Two summery Ginzura tanka (Gintoki/Katsura)

After the two spring tanka I wrote for this ship in April, now in July I got the idea for two summer-themed tanka as well. Remains to be seen if inspiration will strike in autumn and winter also...


1. (Gintoki POV)
Licking my dry lips.
In this heat, even shadows
Seem to melt away.
Cursing myself, I go out
To find you. Bring me the breeze.

2. (Zura POV)
Obon is coming.
Walk with me and the young ones
In these noisy streets,
With the fireflies and the moths.
Hold my hand. You will be fine.
