So, uh. I haven't actually read the last One Piece chapter yet and to be honest I'm not looking forward to it but spoilers affected me so much I had to do something. A rough sketch was the result. You probably shouldn't click on it unless you know the chapter's content already.




Sorry about bad anatomy etc. The other three are there somewhere - I just couldn't fit them into the picture without it getting too cluttered.

I feel like I shouldn't write the deathfic anymore - right now it feels both pointless and overly cruel.

As you know I am a big Ace fan and yeah... this is hard to swallow. I am sure this new turn in the development has a reason but it's still rough. I trust Oda though to have a very good reason why this kind of sacrifice was necessary. *sigh*

I feel very much for you. I ended up sobbing as I read the chapter, just now, and not sobbing in a good way either. And Ace isn't usually a favourite character for me(I don't dilke him, there are just others I like more!), so I understand it must be rough. {{{hugs}}}

Yeah, me too. I held it together until the last panel and then I was crying as well. Seeing Ace smile like that... Oda has outdone himself right there. I just wished it was for a happier reason.

Ahhh, trauma Luffy. @@; I do hope his friends show up to give him hugs and comfort soon.

Though I'm not sure the manga's spoilers, even if they come true, are a sure bet. Oda's track record... then again, maybe he was saving it for the right time.

Yes, I very very much want them to show up, not even for my own sake any more but to help comfort Luffy in whatever way they might manage. (Well, that's for my own sake too, of course, but you know what I mean.)

Maybe if one of the characters' present has some power we've never known existed until now. But I am afraid that Oda might indeed have been saving this for the right time. Cruel bastard. ;_;

I'm honestly not sure if I can. It seems like Oda will already be tackling very similar ground, and since my fic is set in the future, the Luffy in it - his starting point, before Usopp dies - might be too innocent and not mature enough when compared to end-of-this-arc Luffy. (This wouldn't be a problem if I had already finished the fic, of course.) It's too early to tell yet, but I get this vibe that might end up the case.

I sympathise a lot! At least you made the decision to set it in the past rather than future - a smart one, it feels to me now. But don't force it.

It's just that I can easily sympathise with you. Why put so much effort in something when.. well, you know.

Also (off topic), call me an attention whore, but I'm kinda disappointed in the lack of replies to my new Anchor chapter - does that make me a bad person? :O

I wouldn't call you that at all! Well, I don't use words like that in the first place, but even so I wouldn't. *hugs* It's very understandable to get disappointed when you really try your best and hardest and only get a few replies for it. That happens to me a lot.(Though it's worse when you get no comments at all.)

It's certainly not a reflection on its quality! If I were too make a guess, it would be that many OP fans right now feel full to the brim with angst and dramatic tension from canon, and maybe prefer either smut or fluffy fics to read.

Also, I think as we haven't seen the non-Luffy Strawhats in canon for a loooong time now (except for the extremely brief cover stuff), interest in them might be waning when canon no longer gives us new material to muse on. This would probably effect a non-common pairing a lot. (For instance, I joined a Sanji/Usopp comm lately but there's very rarely anything posted to it.)
