In before May Day! Art dump

Tomorrow is May Day and most everything will be closed over here - it's one of the most closed down days of the year. Today is Walpurgis Eve and half of everything closes after half the day - including work, which is nice, but also including most places with free Internet access (still no net connection at home for me.) Tomorrow will be even worse, though, and I felt like putting something up before then. (Criticism appreciated as always.)





I really don't know where the hell this came from. There seems to be some big story behind it, but I have no clue as to what it could be. Maybe Usopp's possessed: maybe Zoro is. Maybe it's some kind of symbolic non-literary thing. I HAVE NO EARTHLY IDEA. :O
(Drawing Zoro's eyes is the opposite of drawing One Piece boobs for me: I have to tell myself "make the pupils really small; then erase them and make them even smaller than that".)

Apart from changing the image size, this rough attempt at a thoughtful/curious Luffy has actually not been adjusted or retouched in Photoshop at all. This is not likely to happen again, folks! ;) And it wasn't like I did a lot more erasing than normal or anything *cough*.



An attempt at drawing the birds from my fanfic A Quiet Walk in the Noonday Heat. (For those who haven't seen it, these are small talking birds with the basic personalities of Luffy, Nami and Usopp. They turn up to bug and confuse Zoro a lot keep the swordsman company in an unfamiliar environment. They may not necessarily look quite like this, though.)

(Man, Zoro's face turned out really oblong in this one! :O I only noticed now.*^_^*)

Why indeed? Like I said, I have no idea! I was hoping maybe someone reading this could make me find out!;p (Just kidding - but you're pretty great with prompted drabbles, so if anything should occur to you...)

Well if you ignore the possiblity of Don Flamingo controling Usopp. Zoro would probably be possesed and needing to be stopped from hurting everyone else. Or could be someone pretending to be Zoro and Usopp is seeing if it is really him. Or could be them working together to trick some other enemy.

The Zoro vs. Ulyssop drawing is intense. There is no other word for it. It doesn't need to make any sense - Just that look on Ulyssop's face is like WOW! (and I am not a big fan of him) Ulyssop's arm is bit too angular, you might want to smooth it out a bit. Other than that.. great work.

Tashigi is a real sweet pie... and I could actually imagine Smoker eating that much... just look at all the muscles that man has... *not that I ever looked* lol

Luffy is really your character, isn't he? So adorable and scruffy there and Gods, I want to hug him and feed him! (You have a secret pact with him, don't you? "Sad pose for food" or "Will smile for food" or something like that... I'm sure of it! ;) ) Truly fantastic capture of him. I love it. I really do.

("Ulyssop" is an awesome misspelling. I'm picturing One Piece crossed over with The Odyssey and Usopp happily retelling and even improving on of Ulysses' wildest exploits.;))

Ah, you're right about Usopp's arm. Thanks for pointing it out.

I'm awfully pleased and flattered you like the Luffy pic so much. Do I have a pact with him?? I didn't know...but Luffy could be unpredictable enough to arrange one behind my back, I'm sure.

Luffy is really your character, isn't he?

I don't know if I dare to claim something like that! I certainly don't think I can guess what's in his mind half as well as with some of the others. Usopp especially is the character I both feel closest to and feel easiest to understand. However, I do like Luffy an awful lot. He's so indescribably marvellous. ^_^

...Though I only just remembered that in the German version of One Piece, Usopp is Lysop! So maybe Ulyssop isn't really a misspelling at all but an ideosyncartic fusion/compromise of yours?

Hm, you don't like Usopp too much? That's too bad...for me, that is, because I was thinking of asking you if you'd care to look at a draft of a story with Paulie and Usopp sharing drunken time together. Since you like Paulie and all. But I'm guessing you might not be much interested in that? (In all fairness I should also warn you that I haven't come up with an ending yet...);)

Ahhh, I feel so stupid right now. Serves me right to post when I am under stress. *hides* And the saddest part is, I DO know better than that! Gahhhh. (yes, it is true on German tv they say Lyssop)

Although come to think of it... in a way those two stories are not that different from it each other: fight against evil and injustice, rescue whole countries and claim shiny gifties along the way! :) Not that different really. And in that mini special they depicted the main characters as Greek fable characters. (e.g.: Robin = Medusa)

I do respect Usopp very much, there are moments I really heart him but I have a hard time when he goes wild with his story telling. That is just a real life preference of mine, I really can't help that.

I would love to read your draft, as much as I favor some characters, I never pick a story based on which character stars in but what the story is about. And how well written it is. Please don't worry about not having come up with an ending yet. Just hit me with it.... :)
