Drew two sketches of Wakaba and Anthy from Utena, plus a coloured pic of Nami where she's crossovering into the Ranma 1/2 universe.

Vague visual spoilers for the end of Utena, no spoilers for One Piece. G, worksafe.

Concrit welcome, esp. on how to get characters looking more like themselves.

I have trouble with Utena characters. I blame the pupil-less eyes of canon. It does work for the anime, but I seem to have a strong need for pupils. ;)

Attempt at drawing Wakaba a few years older, when she's graduated from Ohtori.

Doesn't quite look like her, though, does it? It was even worse when I had her smile. Ah, well.

Then I wanted to draw post-series Anthy in casual clothes, even though I tend to picture her always dressed elegantly and ladylike. Maybe this is why her expression doesn't quite look like her...

(I picture whatever garden this is as very utilitarian, focused on growing edible greens rather than flowers, and particularly no roses anywhere)

Finally, Nami (and Sanji) wander into Jusenkyo, the valley of the cursed springs.

(Orange tabbies can be she-cats, honestly!)

Ah, I didn't know you liked Utena as well! *__* I really like the Anthy picture; she's got such a relaxed, casual attitude in it.

I do! I know I rarely post about it, though - there's been plenty of brilliant analyses done about the show; I don't think I can be up to snuff. and it seems a bit too... big for fangirly squee... ^_^ (Though I did a long post about Anthy back in February, in an "ask about a female character and I'll babble on" meme.)
