Gintama Characters As Flowers, part 5
Jun. 7th, 2024 09:12 pmHoneysuckle is associated with generosity in Japanese flower symbolism. Otose is surely the most generous character in all of Gintama, so it seems like the right flower for her!
Gintama fanart by me (links only)
Jan. 3rd, 2021 09:52 pmSo in a mere five days the Gintama movie is coming out in Japan (more like four days with the time difference) and I decided two days ago I'd try to draw at least one piece of Gintama fanart every day till then. I'd like to take a bold stand and say I'd draw at least one character every day for the whole of January (Gintama certainly supplies enough characters for that!), but I know I can rarely trust things like energy levels/confidence in drawing (even doodles!)/abilites in estimating how much time I need to remain constant.
But I've managed to come through for the first three days at least! So far so good.

Gintama filk: A Thousand Threads (Pray)
Sep. 7th, 2019 10:51 pmI wrote one more Gintama filk. This one focuses on the Odd Jobs trio and tries to convey the feel of early Gintama. It's set to the tune of "Pray", the first Gintama opening (but the filk is the length of the full version of the song). While a couple of lines are inspired by quotes from later arcs, there's nothing spoilery about the lyrics.
I've kept some of the words that are in English in the original lyrics, but not all of them. As English and Japanese work fairly differently in terms of rhythm, I've underlined the syllables where I think the stress should be the strongest.
Concrit/other comments very welcome!
Note: Otae and Otose are background vocalists who sing the words within parentheses.
